I have tried again on nokia900 with default tar.gz shr-image from buildhost staging 014 and I haven't even used my post-install scripts and still I don't have this problem :/. Please someone with this issue attach /var/log/Xsession.log.

It's still the case for my locally builded image but I am downloading right now the 014 shr-lite-image for the Nexus S and will test this with it too.

You need to were confident at this point, therefore try it out for a lot of omega replica watches, folks that place timepiece may believe that you happen to be wearing the cartier replica watch.

This is fixed for me (gta04) in shr-core-staging 043.
probably since the switch to systemd.

I am seeing this again with the 047 build. Removing .e and re-running the wizard does not help.

rm -rf ~.cache
ln -s /var/volatile ~/.cache
causes programs to show up at boot, but the only icon that is shown correctly is pidgin. This isn't really a practical workaround, but may be a hint for someone trying to figure out what is going on.

illume-home was replaced with elfe in 084 please test new e-wm-config-illume2-shr from there to see if it's resolved completely.
Elfe and config works find on my images with newer EFL, but for official images it was showing warning I've hopefully fixed this morning (that's why it was moved from 083 to 084..).

just upgraded to 084, got a warning about settings beeing newer than enlightenment.
comment:20 Changed 11 months ago by elisa42
else it works fine
comment:21 Changed 11 months ago by jama
hmm I had this warning in morning.. that's why I recreated config in offical image :/ it does not complain with my newer EFL_SRCREV, I'm half tempted to just ignore icons issue until new EFL is out.. or use EFL from svn instead of release tarballs in offical images again ..

Warning should be fixed by
http://git.shr-project.org/git/?p=shr-themes.git;a=commit;h=248c97f406bae7868deb5415d8d7c057ce703d6f
but someone with image without e-wm-config-illume2-shr upgraded should try to recreate config (it does not downgrade config_version when new e-wm-config-illume2-shr is used in older e-wm, that's why the warning was still there after I've recreated it in official image..).
in 083 or older (ssh session):
systemctl stop xserver-nodm.service;
rm -rf /root/.e;
systemctl start xserver-nodm.service;
# manually unload illume-home, load elfe
systemctl stop xserver-nodm.service;
cd /root/.e/e/config
for i in illume2-shr/*cfg; do eet -d $i config ${i/cfg/src}; done;
tar czvf illume2-shr.tgz illume2-shr/*cfg
send me illume2-shr.tgz

short but correct and still up2date description of elfe from robin:
I haven't used elfe for a while but this is what I remember:
With elfe you now have five different home screens where you can add/group your
apps eg according to usage: all gps apps home screen one; all internet apps on
home screen two, and so on. (ps you can add apps more than 1 time!)
You switch between home screens by swiping left to right or right to left. the
dots at the bottom show you on which screen you are.
As you may want apps on every home screen (eg phone button) you can drop them in
the grey area at the bottom as this will be the same anywhere.
To delete an app you press it for a while until all apps start to dangle and you
see a small cross at the lower right corner: press the cross and the app is gone.
hope that helps a bit.
best regards
robin

You can also have a "cards" like overview of your running apps (like on palm pre).
To use this, you need compositing enabled and need to bind a key to trigger that view.

Replying to slyon:

could you for example use the split screen icon in the top bar for this? and if so how would one proceed (which settings menu to look at)?

as another workaround you can also install elfe and via settings/mobile/elfe load module you now have 5 desktops where you can arrange your icons as wished for.
