Programs that wait to be coded

'Cause coding is fun!

The intention of this page is to gather brainstormed application ideas. If you think there has to be an application that has to be programmed for SHR just edit this page with your proposition so that application developers have an idea pool for their spare time ;). Like kde-brainstorm but for SHR.

SHR-Today

SHR definitely needs a central today screen displaying upcoming dates, missed calls, new sms,... Preferred GUI-Toolkit: Elementary Good starting Point would be Notifier:  http://www.opkg.org/package_213.html

I (gbe) did a similar thing which i called elock. It's currently very alpha-quality and available at  http://intepi.net/~gbe/stuff/elock.tbz It requires removing the AUX button binding in the keybindings menu and should be started from /etc/X11/Xsession.d It mainly is a screen locker which supports the lock signal sent by frameworkd to lock the screen after a given period of time and shows the current time and numbers of missed calls and SMS.

The today should be the main screen of the phone (am I right?) with a button to go to the launcher to launch apps.

SHR-Musicplayer

pythm rocks! But what about a more elementary/fingerfriendly player. E.g. intone  http://www.opkg.org/package_190.html

SHR-RSS

Would be nice to have an RSS reader - with good offline caching of stories. I assume using already existing parts of html rendering from the shr web browsers.

SHR-FBreader

The version of FBreader already on shr is nice, but could really use some optimisation from the point of view of the window menus, like page down and up etc. A lot of them would probably need to be removed from the main screen or only revealed selectively.
